2011 Impression: MINI Countryman
MINI will by 2011 a small SUV on the market called Countryman, time for a little preview!. A while ago, at the Paris Motor Show in 2008 to be precise, we were already acquainted with the concept model of the Countryman, which then gets called Crossover Concept. The naming of the MINI SUV would indeed, in line with the Clubman, Countryman be.
Even though the Countryman particularly well on the other members of the MINI family, yet the skin completely different technique. So the Countryman on a new platform, which was made for a higher ride height and four-wheel drive. The basis of this platform is - how could it be otherwise - shared with the BMW X1. The engines were not the BMW family, but from cooperation with the PSA group result.

Renault Fluence ZE Electric Concept
We get it Renault, we really do. You're "green," you're "eco-friendly," just please, never four electric cars at one show ever again. Even if this particular example, the Renault Fluence ZE, is actually attractive.
The Fluence is Renaults most realistic look at the future of vehicle electrification, sporting lithium ion batteries that can charge in three hours at high voltage hubs, do a 20-minute partial quick charge, or completely swap out in three minutes, which, on the face of it is a good idea, until you recognize the troubles in creating and maintaining that infrastructure. The car's obviously based on the handsome Renault Fluence but with the superfluous concept car baubles like whimsical wheels, fancy paint, and a snazzy interior. And just for the record, it's capable of a 100 mile range with a 95 HP e-motor sporting 166 lb-ft of twist.

2011 Bentley Mulsanne
The 2011 Bentley Mulsanne was officially announced at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but the luxury automaker was keeping quiet with the details regarding its newest land-yacht's power train and tech. However, with the 2009 Frankfurt auto show, the veil has been pulled back and we're finally able to share the goods. Let's just get this out of the way: 752 pound-feet of torque--that's how much twist is generated by the Mulsanne's 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. There's also 505-horsepower being generated, but we can't get past that number: 752.
The engine isn't the only generator of huge numbers. Try "2,200-watt Naim for Bentley premium audio system with eight DSP modes and 20 speakers" on for size. Feeding that audiophile quality audio system is a 40GB hard-drive-based audio system that features navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and multimedia connectivity options.
Bentley's PR guys and gals probably won't admit it, but much of the Mulsanne's tech appears to be repackaged Audi technology, which makes sense as both automakers are mostly owned by the Volkswagen Group. For example, the infotainment system appears to be a reskinning of Audi's MMI system and features a leather-lined MP3-player drawer in the center of the dash that houses what appears to be Audi's Music Interface. A Drive Select system with four vehicle dynamic modes (including a user customizable mode) is remarkably similar to the system that we're starting to see on, you guessed it, Audis. This technology sharing is fine by us; after all, the Rolls-Royce Phantom shares more than a little tech with its distant BMW relatives.

However, Mulsanne represents a level of extreme luxury that can't be found in any Audi we've ever seen. Plush carpet, fine leather, and high-quality wood and metal finishes can all be customized in any way that the customer likes. There are over 114 paint colors available, 24 leather colors, and dozens of wood veneers available, and that's before we get into custom bespoke options. Each Mulsanne is handmade in Crewe, England and carries a plaque on the body and a numbered plaque on the engine declaring its handmade bona fides.

Beijing Auto Show 2008: Geely CE concept makes its debut
Ok, the Geely car parade at Beijing is officially in full swing. One of the good-looking renderings we posted during the runup to the show was of the CE concept, a small hatchback that looked like it could just as easily be an Acura that’s slumming in the entry-level class. In the metal, it looks pretty much exactly like the rendering — a well-styled little5-door hatch. Only that’s the Geely badge on that shield-shaped grille.
It It is better-looking than any of Geely’s current market offerings, and that’s about all there is to say, because we have neither interior shots nor technical details to flesh things out any further. As such, we’ll treat it as a styling exercise that’s likely got Honda/Acura designers grumbling under their breath, and Chinese showgoers and (potential car-buyers) nodding approvingly.

Car modification for the masses
There is a new movie set to be released today and this quirky film takes the name of the Race-ist. But before you get offended, this film is not about South Africa’s past and its struggle with racist issues. The Race-ist is about cars and…cars. If you are a fan of films that contain fast cars with roaring engines and chase scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat, then the Race-ist is a film that might tickle your fancy for flashy vehicles and jam packed action. There is no shortage of car modification in this film that’s full of bling and bang and even though some of us might think that these modified cars are just too over the top to be real, do not be fooled. As much as the film contains a little bit of action, romance and comedy, it also contains a vast amount of car visuals where car modification enthusiasts can drool over some sweet wheels and magnificent mags.
Car modification enthusiasts have had their fair share of problems as they feel that police target in on them owing to the appearance of their custom cars. Individuals who conduct car modification properly and who do not modify their car illegally or drag race illegally feel as if they are being targeted unnecessarily. The truth is that there are a fair number of illegal drag races taken place daily and some of these so called fun escapades can end badly, as we have seen in the famous Jub Jub case. Illegal races continue to race because they know that they can get away with it regardless.
Car modification is a way of life for some, a scene of sorts that only some are integrated into. Once your car is pimped up to the extreme, it seems that you are accepted into a secret society, a type of inner circle that only spinning mags and a glittering paint job can enter into.
Car modification enthusiasts feel that they are a misunderstood niche and are commonly portrayed as degenerates with nothing better to do. The featuring of car modification on television and internet has made some individuals understand that this is more than a hobby – it’s a lifestyle choice. Industry experts say that customizing is becoming more popular, especially with high net worth individuals who are keen to make their cars stand out from the rest.

Chip Foose Stiff speed car Car Styling

Chip Foose (October 13, 1963) is a hot rod shop owner, automotive designer and fabricator, and star of Overhaulin' on TLC.
Foose began working on automobiles at age seven for his father's company, Project Design, in Santa Barbara, California. Encouraged by Ford and Preston Tucker designer Alex Tremulis, Foose started to attend the Art Center College of Design in 1982, however dropped out after two years due to financial difficulties.
After working for four years at ASHA Corp., Foose returned to the Art Center to complete his education. After graduating in 1990, Foose worked full-time for Sterenberger Design and part-time for Boyd Coddington. In 1993, Foose resigned from Sterenberger to work for J Mays at Ford, however Coddington was able to convince Foose to work for him instead. Working for Coddington full-time, Foose eventually became the president of Coddington's company Hot Rods by Boyd. While working for Coddington, Foose designed many of Coddington's well known creations such as the Boydster I and II.In 1998, with Hot Rods by Boyd facing bankruptcy, Foose left his position and with his wife Lynne started his own automotive and product design company called Foose Design in Huntington Beach, California.
In 2004, the TLC program Overhaulin' began to air with Foose as the star of show. In 2006, Foose launched a line of die cast replicas of many of his famous designs partnering with the makers of Johnny Lightning in the creation of JL Full Throttle. JL Full Throttle produced many of Foose's famous, award winning designs like Grand Master and Impression.
